MCC is the only community college in North Carolina that offers an Equine Technology degree.  The Equine Technology curriculum is designed to prepare students for professional positions within the Horse Industry.  The curriculum is either management or training oriented, depending on the student's choice of concentrations, but remains diverse enough to prepare graduates for the widest range of available equine careers.  Areas of specialization may be pursued during the summer co-op internship program.

Students may also choose to transfer to a four-year institution to pursue their bachelor's degree in the equine field.  Institutions like Midway Women's College near Lexington, Kentucky offer various programs and articulation agreements allowing students an opportunity to complete the first two years of their Equine-related bachelor's degree at MCC.

Outside learning opportunities greatly enhance the educational experience of Equine Technology students.  From shows at the Bob Martin Ag. Center to Continuing Education classes and especially the Equine Club and IHSA Riding Team, students will have a chance to become involved while increasing their knowledge of and experience in the Horse Industry.
