Work-Study Positions

Students who are eligible for the Federal Work-Study program have the opportunity to apply for several positions in the Equine Department as they come available or at the beginning of Fall semester each year.  Please go to Student Services to apply.  The following positions may be available:

Assistant to the Director of Equine Technologies
Students applying for this position should have a skillset that includes filing, typing, creating reports and records and conducting internet and phone-based research.  Student should be competent in Microsoft Office Word and Excel.

Assistant to Instructor of Equine Technologies
Students applying for this position should have a skillset that includes filing, typing and creating reports.  Student should be competent in Microsoft Office Word and Excel.

Assistant Farm Manager
Students applying for this position should have a skillset that includes either office skills (as described in the positions above) or hands-on farm skills including tractor and farm vehicle operation and maintenance.



Temporary Farm Worker Positions

All students are eligible to work on the farm as temporary employees during holidays and breaks.  Duties include basic horse care (feeding, watering and medicating) and farm maintenance.  Opportunities may be available for riding as well.  For more information, please contact the Equine Facility Manager.
